Historic Crowland Township Map

Saw this once in hard copy – thought it was really neat.  Googled it and low and behold McGill has a digital copy.

At the bottom is a link that let’s you look up areas by lastname too.  I thought its pretty cool.  In most cases, it shows why the street you live on is named what it is.  Most of the street names are the name of the family that once lived there.

Please note the council presentation has been moved to May 1.  I have been notified that there are clarifications to be made to the information provided in the newspaper.

It has been noted as well by the committe that perpetual  care was stated by the mayor at the public meeting and as part of the grant –  a letter confirming this from the city was a
requirement the grant application submission.

1812 Update

Any interested citizens of Cooks Miils are invited to the the May 1 meeting at City Hall where the 1812 committee will be making a presentation.  There will be an update to city council on the federal grant applications and some of the progress made on the activities and proects under development for 2014.
